The Dosage of Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose in Detergent Products

In the previous articles, we have talked about the applications of Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose in detergent industry. Today, we will talk about the specific dosage of detergent grade CMC in different personal care and hygiene products in daily chemical use.

1. After 2% CMC is added to the detergent products, the whiteness of the white fabric can be maintained at more than 90% after washing, so the proper amount of CMC in the general detergent products is in the range of 1-3%.

2. The addition of CMC in soap manufacturing can make it easy to process and press. Detergent grade CMC is made into 10% transparent pulp, and it can be put into the mixing machine with spice and dye at the same time. After that, the mixture will be fully mixed with dry soap flakes and then pressed into certain shapes. The general dosage of CMC is 0.5-1.5%.  If the salt content of the dry soap flakes is higher, the amount of CMC should be higher too.

3. The dosage of CMC in the washing powder is 0.3-1.0%. The main role of CMC is to prevent impurities from re-precipitation.

4. In the laundry powder and washing detergent, CMC can prevent the dirt that has been washed from settling on the fabric again. Adding 0.5-2.0% CMC can achieve a satisfactory result in the synthetic detergent.

5. CMC can also be used in shampoo, body wash, hand sanitizer, car wash, toilet cleaning and other products. It can form rich foam, keep good foaming effect, make the product thickened and clear without separate layers, and most importantly not dilute (especially in summer). The addition amount is generally 0.6-0.7%
