Packaging, Transportation and Storage of CMC

As one of the most common additives, Sodium CMC is widely used as thickener, stabilizer and emulsifier in food, medicine and industrial field, such as detergent, paper-making, textile and ceramic, etc. During the use and storage of CMC, correct operation can make CMC have more stable performance within the validity period and even extend the shelf life, help food and beverage have better taste and longer shelf life, and also effectively improve detergent liquid, detergent powder and other industrial products.

The normal packaging of CMC is often divided into food/pharmaceutical grade and industrial grade. For food and pharmaceutical grade products with high purity, the normal packaging is a 25kg PE inner bag and kraft paper outer bag. PE bag is with cable tie sealing, and the kraft paper bag is sealed with high-density sealing line, which not only ensures the safety of product but also prevents moisture. The packaging of industrial-grade products is normally made of PP woven bag, which is also high-density sealing line. In addition, special packaging can also be provided, such as big bag packaging of 500KG, 1000KG and barrel packaging.

The vast majority of CMC transportation is by sea, and FCL transportation is normally without pallets except customer’s request, and different specifications will lead to different loading quantities. In order to avoid damage during transit, LCL transportation must be palletized.

CMC need to be stored in a cool, dry, clean, ventilated environment. Temperature Max. 40℃, with a relative humidity max 80%. Pharmaceutical and food grade should not be put together with toxic substances and harmful substances or substance with peculiar smells during transportation and storage.

CMC needs to be used out ASAP after opening, empty the air and seal inner bag tightly if you can’t use out in one time. Warehouse need to be equipped with insecticidal lamp , moisture meter and temperature meter etc. Meantime, record the data in time and adjust condition once it’s out of control.
